Mesa chamber hands out annual honors
The Mesa Chamber of Commerce honored educators, businesses and a volunteer Tuesday night at its 99th annual Leadership Awards Banquet.
Dee Brown of Skyline High School was chosen as teacher of the year and Mary Corki Stewart of Mesa Community College is professor of the year. Stephanie Kha, a senior at Red Mountain High School, was student of the year.
In the business categories, Gateway Bank, East Valley Disaster Services and Bashas' were chosen as the small, medium and large businesses of the year, respectively. Landmark Restaurant and T.C. Eggingtons Brunchery received tourism lifetime achievement awards; Longbow Golf Club was honored for tourism spirit of service, and Invision Auto Body got the SCF Arizona Safety Award.
Ivan Martinez of Ivan Martinez Photography was chosen as the chamber’s volunteer of the year.
